Section 1. Objectives and Purposes

The primary objectives and purposes of this association shall be:

To promote advancements in that field of geological sciences called "Water-Rock Interaction", the study of the interactions between aqueous fluids and their geologic environment.

To organize and hold national and international conferences on water-rock interaction .

To encourage a wide spectrum of researchers to attend these conference and present their results.

To publish the transactions of these conferences in a publicly available document for the benefit of all those interested in water-rock interaction.

To organize and lead field trips to locations where water-rock interaction has had a significant impact on the environment.
