Research Interests
My area of research is metal bioaccumulation and effects in aquatic organisms. Specific areas of study include biotic and abiotic factors affecting temporal and spatial variation in metal bioaccumulation, species-specific bioaccumulation strategies, intracellular metal partitioning and speciation, metal detoxification mechanisms, toxicological effects of bioaccumulated metal on individuals and populations, bioavailability of metals associated with mine wastes, and development of aquatic invertebrates as biological monitors.
